INITIATIVES
Jewish Schools
Strengthening our Day Schools, one student at a time
The Winkler Lowy Foundation supports Jewish schools in a variety of ways with a major focus on scholarships. One such program focuses support on children of Jewish professionals, ensuring that the families so deeply committed to Jewish education, receive the support and access needed for their children to fully benefit from a meaningful and enriching Jewish educational journey.
Jewish Summer Camps
Keeping kids in the bunk
The Winkler Lowy Foundation recognizes the lasting impact of Jewish summer camp on personal growth, community building, and Jewish identity. Through its support of the LA Federation's Camp Initiative and individual summer camps, the foundation helps teens have continued opportunities to return to camp beyond 8th grade when many drop off. By providing resources and support throughout high school, the foundation helps maintain these important connections, allowing young people to keep benefiting from the unique experience and values that Jewish summer camp offers.
Israel
Helping our brothers and sisters in Israel
Post-October 7th, the Foundation has provided critical spot grants to partners across the country - first for emergency response, and now for rebuilding. The Foundation is also dedicated to expanding career opportunities in Israel for individuals facing barriers to access. Through partnerships with higher education and career development programs, the Foundation supports pathways for individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds such as women and new immigrants, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder their ability to thrive in the professional world after the army.
